Summary: We collect your name, email, and how you use the app. We use it to run LZCheck and improve it. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

Who we are

LZCheck ("we", "us") operates lzcheck.com, a preflight planning tool for paramotor and paraglider pilots. Contact: hello@lzcheck.com.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your first name, last name, and email address through our authentication provider, Clerk.
Usage information. We collect events describing how you use the app (for example, which features you open and when) through our analytics provider, PostHog. Analytics is disabled for visitors in the EU, EEA, and UK.
Content you create. Landing zones you save, settings you choose, and, if you use flight verification features, flight track data you choose to submit. Pooled flight contributions are anonymized.
Technical information. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type) processed by our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, for security and delivery.

How we use it

To provide and operate the service, including syncing your data across your devices
To manage beta access and the waitlist
To understand how the product is used and improve it
To communicate with you about your account and access (we will not send marketing email without your consent)
To improve forecast accuracy through anonymized, pooled pilot observations

Who processes your data

Clerk (authentication and account management)
Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, security, inbound email routing)
PostHog (product analytics, hosted in the United States)

We may add an email service provider for account and marketing communication in the future; this policy will be updated when we do.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your personal information
We do not show advertising
We do not share your personal information with third parties except the processors listed above or where required by law

Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies from Clerk to keep you signed in. Our analytics does not run for visitors in the EU, EEA, or UK. We do not use advertising cookies.

Data retention

We keep your account data while your account exists. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized, aggregated data (such as pooled forecast corrections) may be retained.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@lzcheck.com. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children

LZCheck is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), authenticated APIs, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; use a strong, unique password.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the date above and, for significant changes, by notice in the app.
